Summary

The original Virtua Cop from gaming God Yu Suzuki changed the way we look at shooting games, literally. Virtua Cop 2 is the second venture into the world of 3D polygonal light gun games. The days of shooting at full motion video are over, thanks for the memories.

In Virtua Cop 2 an evil crime wave is running through the city and because you are a cop it is up to you to put a stop to their devastation. It’s a simple case of shoot the baddies before they can shoot you. Occasionally, innocent people appear so be careful that you don’t just shoot for anything that moves. Killing an innocent bystander will cost you a life, but seeing how it’s not costing you nothing to play, feel free.

In the Arcade, Virtua Cop 2 was played by using a lightgun. The PC version of Virtua Cop 2 uses a mouse control method. This works extremely well, you can reload without shooting off the screen and you can save your arm from serious fatigue by not having to hold your arm straight out for hours on end.

Virtua Cop 2 features a multi-player mode. Two people can either share a PC or link up two PCs via a local network or the Internet. This mode is more frantic and true team-work is required.

Virtua Cop 2 is now considered to be a budget title, so at a low price point is definitely worth checking out. Overall, Virtua Cop 2 is a classic, enjoyable shoot-em-up.
