Summary

Following the hugely successful series of Rainbow Six games for PC, developer Red Storm has made a welcome return to the tactical combat genre with another Tom Clancy title, Ghost Recon. Unrelated to the Rainbow Six series, Ghost Recon promises an intense strategic battle of wits and firepower.

Ghost Recon places you in the position of guinea pig as you are the team responsible for the testing of new weapons. You will execute genuine missions with these weapons, so caution is of the utmost importance. Just don’t get yourself blown up, okay? Remember, you command an entire team of Ghosts. If anything goes wrong, you will be responsible.

Ghost Recon’s gameplay is spookily realistic. The environments are vast and non-linear. The level of detail is extremely high, and the character models and animation are very realistic.

Now, here comes the exciting part. Players will assume control of some truly awesome weapons. These include new M-16 assault rifles and the mighty M-136 Anti-Tank Rocket. Get in there!

The game consists of 15 challenging levels that span a variety of diverse locations. Just a few of your tasks will entail rescuing downed pilots and escorting a column of tanks. Varied terrain and weather conditions help to make this ‘FBI simulation’ as accurate as possible, giving players the opportunity to experience a wide range of combat conditions.

Another classic strategy game from Red Storm then. Those guys really know their stuff.
