Summary

As the name suggests, Dragon Ball Z for Kinect brings the classic Japanese beat-’em-up series over to the controlling mechanism of Microsoft’s no-controller system.

Use of Kinect enables the player to get to grips with more than 100 fighting moves and combos. moves. This, for Dragon Ball Z stalwarts does of course include the Kamehameha move. As this is achieved without a conventional controller device, the gamer must learn to use their own arms, fists and body to get to grips with battle.

The game has been developed by Japanese-based Spike-Chunsoft, a company with expertise in RPGs such as Dragon Quest and Shiren the Wanderer as well as fighters and adventure games such as Way of the Samurai, Kenka Bancho and Dangan Ronpa.

Dragon Ball Z for Kinect features iconic characters, famous attacks, and epic battles authentically created from the original Japanese manga comic book series. However, also included in the package is brand new anime footage.

The title has more than 50 playable characters featuring one who is completely fresh and new to the series and each of whom has their signature moves in the two game modes.

These are: ‘Story Mode’ in which the player is taken through the challenges and narrative deep in the DBZ franchise; and ‘Score Attack’ mode in which the gamer must fight and fight, defeating opponents in 1-on-1 battles to get the highest score.

Both modes can be experienced for the first time in the history of the series in first-person perspective.

Also supported in the game is QR code functionality that enables players to unlock characters and power-ups in the game.
