The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask 3D - 3DS/2DS

Waaaay back in the mists of time (the year 2000), Nintendo decided to shift gears a little. After the success of The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time the company decided to take the building blocks of the much-beloved N64 game and make a decidedly weirder, spookier title. The original is remembered well for its darker tone and slight step away from the traditional features of a Zelda game. Now, the game has been remastered for a new generation of gamers on Nintendo's 3DS family of handhelds.

Link must save the land of Termina from a terrible fate - in three days the moon will come crashing down, obliterating the kingdom below it. Fortunately, Link has the Ocarina of Time to help him go back and relive those days as he tries desperately to save Termina.

Of course, Link will need to explore all kinds of dangerous dungeons, spooky swamps and monstrous mountaintops as he quests to save the day. This is still a Zelda game, after all. But the time travel mechanics also mean that Link can build his knowledge of different characters' routines, interacting with them to reunite couples, recover stolen items and more. Time is limited, however, and when the third day rolls round you'll still have to reset the clock...

Then, of course, there are the masks of the title. Some of these masks grant strange new abilities. You might be able to talk to animals, move fast like a rabbit or even turn into entirely different species!

The game makes use of the 3DS's features, of course. Everything has had a graphical overhaul, and players can use the 3DS's motion controls and touch screen. Those with a Circle Pad Pro can use that to explore the world, while those playing on a New 3DS can use its C stick.
