Summary

While the PlayStation Vita isn't quite done for, the Nintendo Switch and PS4 have been inheriting a lot of its games and franchises, inclucing some of the more fan service focused games to come out of Asia. Enter Gal*Gun 2, a game with about as odd a premise as you're likely to come across.

Some time after the events of Gal*Gun Double Peace, you find yourself in a school that has itself a demon problem. Girls in the school are being possessed, so heaven has sent the angel Risu down on a demon hunting programme that involves shooting the girls full of pheromones until they collapse in fits of ecstasy. The stuff of Lovecraftian horror this certainly ain't!

In a nutshell, it's an on-rails first-person shooter with dating sim elements. Despite the on-rails nature of the action, though, there's a lot more freedom in how you approach the game than in Double Peace. To go on dates you need to accrue points, and how you get those - be it through story missions or quirky side missions - is up to you.

Doki Doki Mode, one of the most infamous features of the Gal*Gun series, is back. Existing fans of the series will be pleased to hear this. Newcomers... well, you'll discover it for yourself!

Gal*Gun 2 is a weird little game, and thank goodness we live in a world where that sort of weirdness has a home.
