Xbox Live Gold for £1

Aggressive marketing or what? Not what that's for sure.

Xbox Live Gold for £1
Microsoft is making upgrading to Gold membership on Live a tad more enticing with a special offer of one month's Gold for £1 for Silver members.

It says, "Exclusive Limited Time Offer..."

Well, of course it's exclusive! It's not as if anybody else can offer it...

"For only £1.00 VAT included, for the first month, your 1-month Xbox LIVE Gold Membership helps you get the most out of your Xbox experience. Your membership will automatically renew to a standard price monthly membership at the then current price, unless you change your renewal or cancel before your membership ends."

It is indeed a taster - which is why we're wondering why even to charge the quid? Remember, once you're signed up for the pound, unless you cancel at the end of the month, you'll be charged £39.99 from then on.

Probably because they'd then get hoards of bitching current Gold account holders.

Well, why not? Silver members do get short changed, but anyone with sense would have a Gold. account. There's no reason why these samplers won't stay on a Gold account, once they see what they are missing.

why do you need 3 xbox live at £39pa each person when you only have one xbox, that means you pay for two you can not use, why they can not have a family subscription for the xbox to connect to live and not the person, is this a protection scam for children, my children hate the way xbox live works as they have to do all games on my profile and not there own????

It's £1 for 1 month gold membership, and then the renewal cost from month to month is £4.99. So It's not £39.99 from then on... that's for a whole years membership, dipshit.

It states "Your membership will automatically renew to a standard price monthly membership at the then current price, unless you change your renewal or cancel before your membership ends." There is no P.A. charge.
