Summary

Everyone loves a sexy spy. James Bond has no trouble getting all the lovely ladies, for example. Think of Mata Hari as an early 20th century, female version of 007 – a beautiful oriental nude dancer from Holland that is employed by Oscar Samsonet to uncover military secrets. If the lead character isn't enough to get more people playing point and click adventures, we don't know what is.

With the story and game design by LucasArts veteran Hal Barwood (Indiana Jones and the Fate of Atlantis), Mata Hari isn't just an exercise in sauciness – its plot marries the events preceding World War I with a combination of real and fictional characters. The result is an interesting look into the Belle Époque.

Mata Hari is tasked with travelling to various locations to obtain classified information, and her charm and finesse (along with other assets) will help her get what she needs. With multiple ways of completing missions, you have the freedom to tackle a situation however you see fit. This freedom extends to the climax of the game as well – with multiple endings to discover, Mata Hari has the goods to coerce you into playing again to see what could have happened.
