Summary

Milestone is the king of two wheels in the world of videogames. It's the studio behind the MOTO GP games and the MXGP Pro series. Ride, though, is the studio's signature series - the one meant to offer the ultimate gaming experience for motorbike fans. It serves up not just high octane superbike racing round a track, but country and city circuits in some of the most iconic locations in the world with everything from GPs to road races to drag races to cater for every taste, as well as bikes across seven different categories. The aim here isn't just speed - it's accuracy as well, with Milestone setting out to capture the feeling of having two wheels and a hungry engine clamped between your legs as faithfully as possible.

Speaking of engines, there's a new one under the hood of the game itself this time out. Unreal Engine 4 is powering Ride 3 and Milestone is promising a completely revised experience that nonetheless remains true to the identity of the series. Ride 2 already set a Guinness World Record for the number of licensed bikes in a game at 230 and this third game matches that, with 70 more planned for DLC. The number of tracks has grown, with 12 new ones bringing the total up to 30.

On the customisation front there are more than 500 customisable bike parts to help players create the perfect machine, with options across your engine, brakes, suspension, transmissions and wheels. There's also a deep set of aesthetic options thanks to the Livery Editor.

Milestone has also taken a novel approach to the single-player mode, with an extremely hefty campaign based around different magazines that offer different types of content.

Whatever your preferred flavour of two-wheeled action, Ride 3 will leave you satisfied.
