Capcom confirms today that
Okami, one of the greatest PS2 games of the last year, is finally making its way to Wii early next year.
If you don’t remember much about this, or need your memory jogging a little, then you can read SPOnG’s
laudatory review of Okami from earlier this year Okami was the last game to come out of Capcom's Clover Studios – the innovative hive-brain that also knocked out such left-field classics as
Viewtiful Joe and
God Hand.Unfortunately, as is often the case with original, innovative games, they didn’t sell too well, hence the closure of Clover, with the original members now part of Platinum Games.
Ironic then that gamers worldwide will greet the announcement of a Wii version of
Okami with widespread joy.
No word yet on who is set to pick up the development duties, but we should hear more on this very soon.
