It's fortunate, is it not, that this resource hog new OS from Microsoft emerged just as Intel's Powerful new CoreDuo and Core2Duo processors started to hit the streets.
We're lucky that these two companies exist, separately and independently, to move forwards the boundaries of computing. One to add useless s**t to an operating system that is already bloaty and inefficient, and the other to produce processors that keep up with the load.
But on a more serious and less cycnical note. What is the deal with Intel now - they seem to be popping processors out at the rate of one a week, and keeping track of how one compares with another is fearsome difficult.
I've been told that a 1.83GHz Core2Duo outperforms a 3GHz CoreDuo. Really?
It would be more fortunate if MS didn't bloated it's allready bloated OS's so we could actually reap the benefits from those dualcore processors. There have been big jumps since the only OS to develop for was Win2000/XP (XP being a more bloated version of Win2000)
as i have used vista on my bros new pc that he has built all i can say about it and as i bet many dont use mac os x i feel that it is a coppy of it wich is a good thing as os x is so much better than xp
