Based in Austin, Texas, TOPHEAVY Studios, Inc. was founded in November 2002 by CEO Jeff Spangenberg. Prior to founding TOPHEAVY, Jeff was the founder and owner of video game developer Iguana Entertainment, which was responsible for the home console and handheld conversions of the million-selling, NBA Jam. Jeff sold Iguana to Acclaim Entertainment in 1995 and went on to found Retro Studios in 1999, which was responsible for Metroid Prime. Retro was sold to Nintendo in 2002.
TOPHEAVY's first work that SPOnG is aware of is the 2004 title, "The Guy Game" (PS2).
The company has been involved titles released on the PC, PS2 and Xbox.
