According to Playground Games "Our 19 founder members spent 2010 building our studio infrastructure and talking to publishers. We moved into a vacant space in the centre of Leamington Spa and turned it into a bright, airy open-plan studio with lots of natural light and a pool table. And, most importantly, we started creating the design for what will be our first title.
In 2011, our project moved into pre-production and we were ready to begin expanding our team. And expand we have.
Today we occupy three floors, and nearly 12,000 square feet, of our building in the centre of Leamington Spa, with more than 100 staff working full time with us on-site.
We don’t intend to become the largest studio in the world, but we do intend to become the best. Our debut title, Forza Horizon, will be a huge step towards that goal."
Software Highlights from Credited Titles
Playground's first work that SPOnG is aware of is the 2012 title, "Forza Horizon" (Xbox 360).
The company has been involved titles released on the Xbox One, PC and Xbox 360. Of these, "Forza Horizon" (Xbox 360), "Forza Horizon 3" (Xbox One), "Forza Horizon 4" (Xbox One) and "Forza Horizon 2" (Xbox One) have been best selling titles.
The company's most recent involvement was on the 2018 release "Forza Horizon 4" (Xbox One).
