Summary

Bad Dudes is a scrolling Beat'Em Up a la Double Dragon. In Bad Dudes, players have the choice of controlling either Blade or Stryker in their quest to rescue President Ronnie (Ronald Reagan by any chance?) from a vicious gang known as Dragon Ninja. Basically, the premise of the game is simple enough - you must beat the hell out of anyone who crosses your path on your search for President Ronnie. The game is separated into numerous levels, each of which contains a boss with a special ability who must be defeated. The boss of the first level is known as Karnov, and he has the ability to breathe fire, aiming towards your face or torso.

As well as single player action, two players can play simultaneously, which adds to the overall longevity of the game. The gameplay is fluent, with plenty of ninjas to contend with. Controlling the characters in Bad Dudes is fairly easy, with the A or B buttons being all you have to press to kick some behind. The graphics are nothing to write home about, but you must remember this is a NES game after all. The only real downside to Bad Dudes is the music, which at times feels a little out of place and would be more suited to a Mario game rather than a game of this genre. However, if you are a fan of old school Beat'Em Ups, Bad Dudes is certainly worth a purchase.
