Summary
Twenty years on and Frogger still hasn’t learnt to swim. In case you are too young to remember, Frogger was an arcade smash from Konami back in 1981. The basic premise was to guide a frog across a road and then a river. The game progressed with the traffic getting faster and more frequent, and the river becoming infested with snakes, alligators and beavers (?)
The new version of Frogger begins exactly the same but in 3D. The first five levels are even called retro. It’s after this that the game-play takes a twist. Frogger has been given two new attributes: He can lash out his tongue to catch flies and now has a super jump. The later levels take the form of fly-catching missions and are set in a variety of bizarre environments like a honey farm and in the bowels of a huge machine. There is also a race mode to cross the road first.
