Hasbro Interactive has a greater reputation for developing family video games perhaps over any other genre in the industry. Mention Monopoly to almost anyone and they will surely recognise the name, and with Hasbro’s release of the classic board game on PlayStation, it's time to gather around the telly and put your opponents out of business..
Obviously, and specific to the European version, the board you play will depend on your country of origin. But before you can even begin to play, you must first create two or more players, human or otherwise, and select one of the eight infamous playing pieces. The layout of the board is unchanged from the board game, but once you throw the die, a short animation of the move you’ve made will take over. Since the rules of the game are customisable, the progression of buying and selling can differ depending on your preferences. As with any other version of the game, your challenge is to force the opposition to declare bankruptcy, but when you are playing the computer, your chances of winning appear to be somewhat reduced, despite the die being a random factor in the game.
Provided you don’t play against the computer, Monopoly is fun to play, and a lot less frustrating. The more players the better.
