Summary

Those nice folks at Infogrames' entry into the world of rallycross is a more than worthwhile addition to the genre. Indeed, such a lot of thought has gone into this title that, to this day, it still knocks most of it's competitors into a cocked hat. The gameplay is that good. Honest.

As with the majority of games in the driving genre, longevity may be a bit of a problem, but the racing is a lot of fun while it lasts. For a quick speed-fix, there are arcade or time trial modes, but for a more fulfilling experience, go for the championship mode which takes you into a full season's rallying. The weather will be changeable. You'll be slipping and sliding in the snow and ice in one race, in the next, the rubble will be flying from under your wheels as you power along one of the drier, more accommodating tracks.

You can choose from a range of cars to race in, including rally tuned Peugot, Subaru and Renault models amongst others, works tuned cars and kit cars.

This title is still one of the best of it's kind. Highly recommended.
