Summary

Despite sounding a little like a French movie, Deus Ex has a distinct American feel. There is lot of action to get stuck into here. Owned and developed by Ion Storm, Deus Ex is a first-person shooter with an unusual blend of role-playing elements.

Civilisation is near collapse in a day when deadly viruses and terrorism rule the world. You, however, believe that there is a masterplan at hand and that someone is planning the ultimate in world domination. As an anti-terrorist agent, you must go in search of these evil terrorists and crush their plans for the good of humanity.

Deus Ex has lavish 3-dimensional, fully interactive environments for your playing pleasure. The game’s interactivity is of huge importance, particularly as your character’s behaviour can effect the outcome of the game. Each and every character is completely interactive, so you need to know how to treat the ladies in the game. These features prove to be fundamental to the role-playing element of Deus Ex.

There aren’t many titles on the shelves that can combine role-playing with first-person shooting, but Ion Storm have shown that it can be done with Deus Ex.
