The year is 2037 and the government has lost contact with one of its top secret research facilities, shortly after receiving disturbing news about suspicious behaviour amongst some of the base’s personnel. You have limited background knowledge of your mission, only what the scientist’s urgent transmission communicated: that she discovered some mysterious data just before she sent her transmission. Your sole clue is the project name ‘Medusa’.

After getting to grips with the unusual control system, X Squad reveals itself to be not much more than a shoot ‘em up. The novelty is that your character is responsible for giving out orders to the other three members of the team. This may sound complicated, but as you become accustomed to the controls, you’ll find that directions and orders can be given pretty swiftly, even in the heat of the busiest battle.

You play as Ash, leader of the covert paramilitary organisation known as X Squad. Fearing the worst, and due to the highly sensitive material within the base, your highly skilled team is assigned to infiltrate the top secret research facility, rescue the missing scientist and uncover the mystery behind Project Medusa.
