Except for the level of graphics that are being generated in real time. Nothing can prepare you for this level of visual excellence.
In NHL 2001 you can choose from any the 30 professional ice hockey teams available including this season's new expansion teams. The gameplay in NHL 2001 is solid and addictive. If anyone knows how to make a quality sports game, it’s Electronic Arts. One of the new additions to this series is the momentum meter. Depending on what’s happening in the rink, the crowd will respond accordingly. This little touch goes a long way to add to the feeling of realism.
To make this title interesting to a variety of gaming tastes and preferences, Electronic Arts have included several different game modes for you to enjoy. Quick Game, Season play, Career Mode, Playoffs, Shootouts and Tournaments are all included here. NHL 2001 is best when played with friends, the multi-player aspect will keep you playing for months. Oh, one last thing, if a fight breaks out don't throw your stick onto the ice, use it!
