Summary

Moho for the Dreamcast is a crazy, original game. Set in the future Moho is game of survival where criminals from across the galaxy fight for their freedom. There seems to be something fundamentally wrong with this ideology. Criminals are bad, usually causing destruction and mayhem wherever they go. Allowing the strongest, quickest their freedom just seems like a bad idea. Anyway, it’s just a game, and the only rule that applies is entertainment without parole.

There are over 80 different levels for you to compete in and a selection of five characters to choose from. Each character sports different attributes such as speed or strength. The levels are set on prison ships and each ship offers a variety challenges. You could be required to collect 30 tokens within a certain time limit or participate in a timed gauntlet challenge.

Combat is a heavy part of the gameplay. If you were competing in a race, giving the person ahead of you a friendly little punch will help towards your victory. In the gauntlet it is necessary to use your fists to make progress. Because you don’t have legs, you spin on one central ball, movement takes some getting used to. If you want to move fast you must gain momentum from ramps and other sloped surfaces. Moho won’t be everyone’s cup of tea, but points for originality.
