Konamis portfolio was never a sore sight, even in the companys early days, but as the industry entered the 3D era, they have somehow managed to further excel themselves. Games like International Track and Field and Metal Gear Solid will always remains close to the hearts of millions of games players. Partially to ease the appetites of gamers looking forward to Metal Gear Solid 2, Hideo Kojima and his team have produced Zone of the Enders for PlayStation 2.
Set millions of miles from Albert Square in the 22nd Century, a war is brewing on Jupiter and its four moons. Here, a boy named Leo (you) discovers a crashed fighting machine. Intrigued by what he sees, he enters, embarking on a mission to save his home planet. ZOE (Zone of Enders) consists primarily of battles, all of which are airborne and take place in giant mechanical war machines, otherwise known as Mechs. Getting to grips with the 3D battles can often prove a tricky task, and as such, Konami took it upon themselves to incorporate training sessions throughout the game. As you progress, killing a variety bad guys from a huge bestiary, numerous weapons, collectibles and power ups can be acquired that will make your challenge a little easier and make you stronger. But battles must be taken seriously, and with precision. Should you miss your target, the stray shot may collide with a building, killing innocent civilians.
Zone of Enders is a great battle game that incorporates a surprisingly engrossing story line of good versus evil.
