Summary

The popular American TV show VIP has now been created in interactive form on Game Boy Color, courtesy of Ubi Soft. Based upon the Pamela Anderson bodyguard character of the TV series, this 2D adventure developed by Planet Software has plenty to offer.

A fictional famous movie star, Loyd Bradock, has vanished and the VIP squad has been hired to solve the mystery and rescue him.

The game itself is solely a 2D experience, and the visuals are as good as can be expected. But the variety of locations and environments mean the game is constantly giving the player something fresh to look at. While VIP may appear to be a linear experience, the game manages to incorporate several different genres into the gameplay. Some challenges will involve car chases, while others will have you riding the streets on rollerblades, taking to the skies in helicopters and riding the sea in your own boat. There is a different set of controls for each type of mission, but all of them are easy to master.

VIP is indeed a challenging game that will have you going through the restart screen on many occasions. There are plenty of humorous references to theTV programme, something that diehard fans of the series will appreciate. Whether you’re a Very Important Person or not, VIP has plenty to offer to the travelling gamer.
