Summary

Following the highly successful release of the Land Before Time films, TDK Mediactive brings us its first racing game for PlayStation. Prepare for some unique racing in this age-old 3D racer.

Like its big-screen counterparts, The Land Before Time Racing has a light-hearted storyline aimed firmly at a younger audience. The game is set across four environments that include Forests, Mountains, Caves and Grasslands. There are 16 playing areas in all that are split two ways – obstacle courses and two-player tracks. But this is no ordinary race; there are no karts, cars, or any other modes of transport. This is a race on foot, in which you can participate as Littlefoot, Ducky, Cera or Spike. Of course, each dinosaur has certain strengths and weaknesses, and it’s better to choose the dinosaur which best suits your racing style.

But it is the tracks themselves that prove to be the most interesting aspect of the game. Each of the 16 tracks is ridden with hazards such as rolling logs and turtles, and you must use your abilities as an agile dinosaur to dodge, jump and leap your way through the race. Collectibles such as Treestars are also available along the way to add to the challenge.

The Land Before Time Racing really is fun on a shiny disc. There’s lots do to, it’s not too hard, and it’s perfect for youngsters.
