Summary

Spider Man is the latest platform-based action game to arrive on the Dreamcast from Activision. Using the same advanced game engine as Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater, Spider-Man is your chance to become the web-slinging super-hero and swing high above the streets. Your arch-nemesis Dr. Octopus is teaming up with the space-based Symbiotes to launch an invasion of Earth. The Symbiote creatures need to attach themselves to human hosts to survive. The effects can be devastating. C’mon Spidey, we need you.

Spider-Man’s comic book abilities translate perfectly into video game special moves. You can use his webs to entangle your enemies or utilise them for skyward mobility. You can even create a web dome around yourself to protect against the baddies. Because Spider-Man can walk on walls and ceilings, you can use these abilities to your advantage. For example, you can stealthy sneak along the roof and drop down behind people for a surprise attack and there are various puzzles that can solved by using Spidey’s wall-hugging.

Spider-Man is an involving game experience for a few reasons: the quality of the story, the plot progression and the excellent control method. Spider-Man is a challenging, and rewarding game. Due to all of the hidden secrets such as additional costumes that improve your abilities and original comic book art, there are plenty of reasons to complete Spider-Man several times.

The translation from 32-bit to 128-bit has meant a substantial increase in the graphical quality of Spider-Man. Although good graphics are not an essential ingredient of a good game, they can help create more believable environments and situations.
