Summary

Retro games are famous for their fundamentally addictive gameplay. In order for a game to be successful it has to provide the user with an experience that just has to be enjoyed time and time again. Midway’s Greatest Hits for the Game Boy Advance is a fine example of retro games and also your opportunity to own four arcade smashes from yesteryear. Included in this compilation are Defender 1, Robotron, Sinistar and Joust.

In defender 1 you must protect the galaxy from hostile alien forces. They attack in swarms trying to capture humans from the planet surface. Once they have kidnapped a person, you only have limited amount of time to shoot the ship before it makes an escape. Robotron is a multi-way shooting game where you need to stay alive and shoot the enemies at the same time.

Joust is a class title, simple but very addictive and rounds off this trip down memory lane perfectly. The idea is to knock your opponents off their ostriches by hitting them at with your joust. The player that hits highest, wins. Simplay clear all opponents to make it onto the next level.

Sinistar is a shoot-em-up that takes place in space. Players must shoot the enemy ships while avoiding their firepower and floating asteroids. You need to blast Sinistar crystals out of the rocks and collect them to create powerful bombs. If too much time is taken the Sinistar, a gigantic floating head appears to destroy your ship. Just hope that you’ve managed to create some bombs before this happens.

The Game Boy Advance and retrogaming are just made for each other, take a trip down memory lane and play a few of the classics that are still good by today’s standards.
