Summary

The fishing simulator, cast into the mainstream by Sega, is back. This time around, Electronic Arts provide the bait for PC owners with the release of Matt Hayes’ Fishing. In case you’re wondering just who Hayes is, he’s a well-known angler, to those who know their angling, and it’s because of his endorsement that Matt Hayes’ Fishing is such a promising game. He wouldn't put his name to any old rubbish, you know.

Matt Hayes’ Fishing is a masterfully-presented title that boasts fantastic high-res visuals (PC power permitting) both below and above the waterline, together with tens of different species of fish, each with specific behavioural characteristics. But catching one of these fish is not easy.

Firstly, once you’ve decided on your choice of bait, you must accurately place the lure in the lake and entice the fish to bite. That’s the easy part. Once your prize-winning water-dweller has taken the bait, you must reel him in without breaking the line. The bigger the fish the harder it is to reel it in. It’s your choice, but there’s no point aiming for small fry.

Matt Hayes’ Fishing features four different playing styles, including Fishing Trip, Tournament, Multi-player and Matt’s Challenge – a level-based game that tests the skills of all anglers, experienced or otherwise.

Six real life venues, a bestiary of well known fish species, eye-catching visuals and immensely enjoyable gameplay means Matt Hayes’ Fishing will rival even the most accomplished fishing title... perhaps even Sega Bass Fishing.
