Summary

In what can only be described as a bad man's golf game, Outlaw Golf is perhaps one of the most originally themed games of its genre. Golf game after golf simulator, these games often try too hard to stand out from the crowd and most end up failing. TDK's Outlaw Golf however, which pits rejects from the classier golfing leagues against one another, excels in this respect.

There's a mean character called Doc Digler, a group of girlfriend strippers and several other politically incorrect club swingers ready to take a shot for you, as you tackle bizarrely located golf courses dotted around the world. One course is positioned right next to noisy Newark Airport, one is in the middle of the Nevada desert, and somehow, the developers have even managed to squeeze one on top of a swamp.

Aimed at those a with penchant for movies such as Happy Gilmore, Caddy Shack and Hooters, Outlaw Golf plays host to a wonderful game engine, customisable difficulty levels and an upbeat soundtrack. Even better, it's devoid of meaningless commentary. But if your lack of skill gets the better of you, you can always swing a club in the direction of your caddy to relieve a little tension.

At face value, Outlaw Golf is merely a 'naughty' golf game, and that's great, but there's a sound golf game underneath it all, and one that deserves your attention.
