We’ve got a lot of love for Capcom, their latest works of arts Devil May Cry, Maximo, and Capcom Vs. SNK 2 are office favourites. They’ve been known to milk a genre, but sometimes a game comes out of nowhere that catches you off guard. Everblue is one such unique game, it is an adventure game set under the sea where you can explore the computer generated beauty of aqua life.
Everblue is refreshingly different to the majority of current console releases, for a start it features non-linear gameplay. Playing this game is like stepping into another person existence. You assume the role of Leonardo, a young, novice scuba diver. Leonardo’s challenge is to explore and uncover the mysteries of Daedalus sea. The ultimate aim of the game is to find the buried treasure that has haunted your family for generations. Completing missions for the townsfolk will earn you cash that can be used to acquire better diving equipment that will take you further into the depths.
Everblue is an interesting adventure game, action occurs above ground as well, you have to interact with the townsfolk to uncover secrets and likely locations. Where this title really comes into it’s own is the faithful recreation of diving and marine life. You can literally get lost for hours in the beautiful underwater world. You can even use your camera to take pictures of the creatures, capture incidents and environments that you uncover. The best photos will be run in the local newspaper and special bonuses can be won.
