Summary
Chaser is set in the year 2044, with players taking the role of John Chaser who, at the beginning of the game, wakes up suffering from amnesia on board the spaceship HMS Majestic being pursued by a crack team of heavily armed shocktroop soldiers. The game then takes players into an apocalyptic future set on Earth and Mars.
In an attempt to ease the suffering, humans have colonised Mars since the year 2042. The organisation championing this move is MarsCorp, led by its charismatic founder, Samuel Longwood. Inhabiting Mars has proved a tremendous success for all involved but Longwood is a hugely ambitious man and even though he has incredible influence on both Earth and Mars, he is putting the final touches to his master plan - for Mars to have complete autonomy from Earth. The reasons behind this plan have not been made clear but there is a small but vocal minority that believe that this is to further the influence that Longwood has, making him without doubt one of the most powerful men in the solar system.
