Summary

When it comes to motorbike racing, motocross and supercross, THQ is the most prominent figure in the industry. Year on year, the company releases new racers and a selection of updates in order to maintain its position in the genre. But there is another series that's worth a good look, and that's Riding Spirits from Capcom. Not content with the success of the original, the Japanese developer has now unleashed a sequel, creatively named Riding Spirits 2.

Building on its predecessor, Riding Spirits 2 is very much your typical series update in that Capcom has delivered more bikes, more tracks, more game modes and overall a much more realistic racing experience. There are now some 15 global courses to get to grips with that include the world famous Suzuka and Twin Link Motegi circuits, and the game also boasts official bikes from the likes of Ducati, Aprilia, Triumph, BMW, Suzuki, Yamaha and Honda.

Deserving of more than just a quick thrash, Riding Spirits 2 also plays host to a comprehensive RS Mode in which players are able to run their bikes into the ground in order gain points and money that in turn finance new motors. As you become richer and your bike becomes faster, you'll be able to progress through the ranks in a game structure not dissimilar to the Gran Turismo franchise. Alternatively, Arcade Mode offers that pick-up-and-play style gameplay so many others crave.

A fine racer from Capcom, Riding Spirits 2 is unlikely to be the last in the series.
