Ah, good old Scooby Doo. Great characters never go away, and the continued popularity of the easily spooked Great Dane and his pals in the Mystery Machine only confirms this. THQ have seized the license opportunity that old Scoob represents with both hands, and now present to you Scooby Doo! Unmasked. Based on the latest cartoon series featuring the wacky hound and his chums, you must get to the bottom of a mystery that is almost certain not to uncover any true supernatural activity. Upright Fred, desirable Daphne, frumpy Velma, and best buddy but less than with it Shaggy, along with Scooby Doo of course, have to call off their peripatetic puzzle solving to investigate the mysterious disappearance of Freds brother, Jed. Jed is the curator of the amusingly titled Harum Scare em museum, and specialises in the design and construction of animatronic monsters. Without his fatherly guidance, the monsters have all gone mental and need to be stopped. But could Jed himself be behind the chaos, and not kidnapped at all? Either way, the team are going to get to the bottom of this, their latest self-appointed assignment.
Take control of the great one Scoob himself, and sniff your way through levels including the museum, the Haunted Rockin Roller Coaster and Shuddery Showdown in Chinatown. Don costumes which give Scooby Doo special abilities the Kung-Fu, Robin Hood and Bat Scooby outfits all confer different abilities to make Scooby Doo more than his normal cowardly, if rather hungry, self. With a neat cell-shaded look that mimics the cartoon, the game looks good too, and the illusion is further supported by the addition of voices provided by the voice actors from the TV show. Adam West of Batman fame also makes a cameo it seems that times are hard. If youre a big Scooby Doo fan then you cant afford to miss this: Zoinks!
