Summary

In 1975, movie-goers were shocked and scared out of their wits by a film of a book. Not an uncommon event, but this film turned out to be a true classic of the time. Jaws saw a small island settlement under attack from a Great White shark during the height of tourist season. Audiences around the world could easily put themselves in the places of the cast, realising that they themselves were unaware of what lurked beneath the waves as they swam just off shore on their own holidays. While the movie appeared to play on this fear of the unknown, the approach was forced upon the director, Steven Spielberg, by a malfunctioning robot shark. Nevertheless, the approach worked and audiences were terrified.

In Jaws Unleashed, you are the shark, famously called Bruce by the crew of the movie, after Spielberg's lawyer. Your task is to play through over 10 locations taken from the film series and wreak havoc on the puny humans you find therein. Each of the locations is populated by people you can eat, tear to shreds, or just play with like a cat with a mouse. The environments can be destroyed and damaged as you would expect them to be by a giant shark, including smashing piers, disabling and destroying boats, and breaking into other enclosures in a submerged theme park.

All the time you will be hunted by shark killer Cruz Ruddock and marine biologist Michael Brody - the son of Sheriff Brody - who will try to either kill you outright or capture you for research. With the addition of level bosses such as large boats and Killer Whales, free roam modes and side quests, Jaws Unleashed has plenty to offer the aspiring Carcharodon Carcharias impersonator.

Those stupid humans won't know what bit them. They're gonna need a bigger boat.
