Summary

Blizzard’s monster franchise makes its return with World of Warcraft: The Burning Crusade. World of Warcraft already boasts a massive 7 million subscribers at the time of this title’s appearance, and with a wait of nearly two years since its release this expansion pack, is one of the most hotly anticipated titles of 2007.

The Burning Crusade picks up in the wake of the ashes of World of Warcraft. The races of the Horde and the Alliance are picking up the pieces of their lives in the devastated land of Azeroth as disturbing rumours begin to emerge. The fragile peace between the factions is threatened as word spreads that the Burning Legion’s ancient war against Azeroth – the Burning Crusade – has begun anew. Old alliances are shattered and new ones forged as conflict threatens to engulf the world in another maelstrom of violence and strife.

Expect a host of new features as this expansion pack builds on the success of World of Warcraft. You’ll find new races to use as the storyline is expanded and new, powerful characters emerge. You’ll also be able to further develop existing characters as the level cap rises to 70. Each new level will offer spell, ability and talent upgrades to for each class of character.

The landscape has also been expanded. As well as battlefields and dungeons that were previously inaccessible opening up, you’ll be able to access the realms of the Blood Elves and step through the dark portal into the Outland. And if all the new territory in the Outland demands immediate exploration you’ll be able to climb onto a flying mount to breeze across the hazardous terrain.

So, if you’re an MMO fan, best let your family and friends to tell them you won’t be around for a while.
