Summary

Think of Hot Pixel as one of your mad old Grandma's dinners. You're watching tons of ingredients flying into the pot, all of which look suspiciously like they're going to overpower you at any moment, then somehow it all comes together at the last minute into a cohesive whole.

The elements in question here are pop culture, skater boi-sterousness, a dash of hip hop, some classic video game references and and a knowing nod to the movies.

In Hot Pixel, you're charged with the task of getting Djon, a skater/nerd cross, through the perils of a typical day in in his pixellated digital world. Sounds straightforward enough, right? Wrong. Because a day for Djon takes the form of a huge string of microgames.

You'll be called on to test your reflexes in games ranging from cracking out tricks on a skateboard or BMX, to flapping your bird wings to avoid a hunter to stage-diving at a pixellated concert. They'll come at you fast and furious, so you'll never know what you'll be hit with next.

If that sounds like too much of an onslaught, however, you'll be able to make use of Hot Pixel's smart playlist, which groups together the minigames to allow you to get in some much-needed practice.
