Summary
That pesky Green Goblin fella's at it again. He's escaped from S.H.I.E.L.D. custody and hit the streets of New York. In this Activision title which takes its lead from Marvel's massively popular Ultimate Spider-Man series, players must battle through the Big Apple as either the Amazing Spider-Man or the ghastly Green Goblin.
Naturally, now he's escaped, the Goblin has a plan. He's teamed up with the Kingpin of crime and they plan to use the wonder drug Oz to turn New York's street gangs into their own private army of super soldiers. Players can either try to halt this tide of destruction as the web-slinging hero, or create chaos as the Goblin. And for the record, this isn't your Dad's Green Goblin. Following in the footsteps of the Ultimate Spider-man series, this Goblin is still Norman Osborn, but rather than being a silly-looking guy in tights on a glider, he transforms into a monstrous mutant when he doses himself with Oz.
Players will be able to customise their moves by focusing on different areas to improve on. From enhanced web-swinging as Spider-Man to more devastating attacks than ever as the Goblin, players define the way each character plays.
There are also special moves to be unlocked with a bit of hard graft. Earn yourself a bunch of points, and you'll be able to gain spin kicks, crouch kicks, web whips and various other spidery moves as the web-slinger. Alternatively, gain ground stomps, the double-fisted ground pound or flaming wrecking ball as the Goblin.
On the DS, you'll also find a host of mini-games that make use of the touch-screen to give you a reprieve between the web-whipping and the ground-stomping. After all, there's a limit to the amount of comic-book carnage you can take in one sitting, isn't there?
