Summary

Basketball isn't, let's face it, the most English of sports. We typically like our sports to be outdoors, mucky and accessible to short people. That doesn't mean you won't get a kick out of NBA '08, however. The pounding on the boards, the sweat, the high-flying, the obscenely tall folk...

Then there's the 1080p sporting experience. There are the new character models with improved animations and new textures for a more realistic look to the players. There's the new progression system that allows players to earn skill points to further customise their player. There's the inclusion of full audio commentary to make the experience more immersive than ever. There's the broader Sixaxis functionality that allows players to engage in all new, more comprehensive movement both on and off the ball...

Players will also find that the interface has seen an overhaul to give the game a more retro NBA feel, from the menus right through to the loading screen.

If all that wasn't enough, the online functionality has gone through a few changes. Players will be able to dip into a social environment where they can flash about their custom created players, access streaming NBA video and view improved leaderboards.

So, it might not be all that English, but you'll find a wealth of features to keep you occupied. Go on, grab a taste of how overpaid athletes live on the other side of the pond.
