Summary

The muddy fields and rubble-strewn streets of World War II are now extremely familiar territory for the modern gamer. Less often visited, however, is the sky above Europe in those dark days. Heroes over Europe looks to remedy that.

It's the sequel to Heroes of the Pacific, with Transmission Games bringing us to a new theatre of war. The game takes aspiring combat pilots into the dark heart of major European World War II battles in glorious, high-flying HD. Players will follow Allied forces from the horrors of the Blitz right through to the destruction of Berlin. Can't beat Nazis for a nice, politically correct set of enemies, eh?

A lot of attention has been paid to detail, from the cockpits you'll step into right through to the 40+ different types of warplane from the era to the damage enemy flak will do to the aircraft. While you'll be spending your time in the skies, however, it wouldn't feel right unless Transmission had put in the hours to make the likes of war-torn London and Berlin as authentic as possible.

There's a robust set of multiplayer modes on offer, including Dogfight, Team Dogfight, Survivor and Team Survivor. Dogfight pretty much explains itself – take out as many enemies as possible – while Survivor is all about being the last plane flying, with no respawning during matches.
