Welcome to the Word Academy, a virtual place founded to help people of all ages to increase their word power. If you're looking for somewhere to improve your vocabulary while having a great deal of fun, you've come to the right place.
At the Word Academy, you are not coached on every word in the English language. For example, you are familiar with the word 'play', therefore, the game assumes you are familiar with its variants (player, played, played, plays etc.). If you know the word 'ground' too, you'll no doubt know that when the words 'play' and 'ground' are put together, 'playground' is the resulting word. This is merely an example of the simplest test at the start of the game. Once you create your own profile and the game gets to know you (and you get to know the game, of course) Word Academy provides you with a daily quota, a target number of words to practise every day. Word Power is a percentage that represents your ability to command and use the English language. The higher your number, the better you're able to express yourself in real life.
Word Academy lets you learn at your own pace, as you improve your vocabulary with 11 mini-games and a dictionary packed with nearly 17,000 words and definitions. With a 2-player mode also on offer, it's easy to show a friend just how erudite, how learned, how scholarly, savvy and studious you've become!
