Summary

Back in 2008, director Timur Bekmambetov produced a film loosely based on Mark Millar and J.G. Jones' excellent comic series, Wanted. It took the core premise about a loser named Wesley Gibson who finds out that his father is, in fact, one of the world's greatest assassins and absorbed the slick style of the comics but took out many of the visual elements that made the comic great.

Grin's game of the same name picks up the story where the film left off. Happily, it brings in the cool as a chilled cucumber uniform of the comic. Unhappily, because of one of the film's plot points (which we'll try not to say too much about, for spoilers' sake) we won't see the return of Angelina Jolie's character, Fox, for the main story. Nonetheless, the super-slick action style of the film has been faithfully recreated to produce a balls-to-the-wall third-person shooter.

Gameplay uses the cover mechanic that has been a solid hit in the likes of Gears of War and adds a unique Wanted spin. Players must master the art of bending bullets to take curved shots from behind cover and scatter their enemy's brains across the floor, while making use of slow motion 'Assassin Time' to pop out shots in open play.

To make sure there's plenty keeping the player interested after the main game's campaign is over, options such as Headshot Mode and the ability to unlock new characters have been dropped in.

If you ever Wanted (bad pun intended) to be a badass, stone cold killer taking out nasty sorts for the good of everyone, this is for you.
