Summary

Fallout 3 is, it's got to be agreed, is one of the best RPG-cum-shooters available on Xbox 360 and PC. The original game saw your character making the best of a very, very, very bad lot in post-Apocalyptic Washington. However, once you'd finished that in its first and third-person perspectives, you might have felt at a lose end; an heroic loose end, but a loose one nevertheless.

So, the good news is that you can now travel to post-Apocalyptic Pittsburgh in the add-on pack called The Pitt. And once you've dealt with the monstrous hordes of creatures and mutants there, you can then make your way to fight the battle of Anchorage in... Operation Anchorage.

That's two add-on packs on one disc to expand an already superior game.

The Pitt sees you decide whether to side with the slaves against their raider overlords in a fight to the death. Of course, you can decide to go the other way and put the unpaid servants firmly in their places. Or in classic Fallout 3 style, you can opt to play both sides against the other while you build up your stocks of weapons and other useful gear.

Whatever happens, sooner of late you're going to have get to grips with the boss of The Pitt him (or maybe her) self if you're going to progress.

Once you've done that, it's time to head up the Alaska to rescue it from... the Chinese as they generally rampage around the place owning it. It's your task to run a strike team in order to retake the great city. But this is going to have as much to do with brains as it is sheer brawn. As well as the usual kit collection and levelling up, you and your team are going to have to out think the invaders if the USA's most northerly capital city is going to have a chance of post-Apocalyptic freedom. A huge and hugely satisfying expansion.
