Summary

Prince of Persia enjoyed a respectable comeback in 2003 with the release of Sands of Time – a game that is still considered by many to be the best instalment in the series. So it only makes sense that Ubisoft Montreal want to recreate that success and continue that storyline, well after the trilogy has ended.

The Forgotten Sands aims to bring gameplay and the storyline of the Prince back to basics, by offering reinvented mechanics that put a unique spin on classic play. Huge-scale multi-enemy combat will force players to reach unforeseen acrobatic heights and tackle foes several times their size. Huge environments will offer opportunities for the Prince to control nature and time, opening up new abilities and gameplay elements.

But how do things get this bad? The Prince's guess is as good as your own – the game's plot is set between The Sands of Time and Warrior Within, and sees the hero visiting his brother's kingdom... only to discover that the royal palace is under the control of an evil army that intends to destroy all and sundry. With the power of the Sands in his grasp, the Prince infiltrates the palace to kick some undead skeleton butt.

It's a setup that will entice fans of the classic original, and one that will allow for epic moments throughout the Prince's jaunt through the kingdom. Prepare to explore the palace one more time to save the land.
