Summary

Football fans with a managerial bent will be happier than Cesc Fabregas on the day after the World Cup Final now that the next iteration of the hugely popular Football Manager series is out – complete with 3D in-game action.

Sports Interactive's tried and tested management simulator now comes with the addition for virtual 'guvnors' the negotiate with potential new signings to their clubs in real time. Sports Interactive actually worked with real football agents in order to make this as realistic as possible.

Also added to the 2010/2011 season's version of Football Manager is an update to the training system that enables managers to provide specific 'Match Preparation' to individual squad members. As well as standard training regimes and schedules, the team coach can also assign up to 14 different skills for players to be focused on during their prep.

Further updates to the way that managers can interact with their team include additional boardroom requests – as well as new exchanges with the dreaded boardroom. More importantly for any gamer who really wants to get the most out of their Wayne Rooney or Stevie Gerrard is the fact that a new Player Interaction module has been added in that enables the manager to speak privately with individual players. You can also talk in public to players from other clubs.

This all comes with 100 new animations plus eve more player emotions, player models, stadiums, pitch textures, goal celebrations and more.

Of course, the same level of detail is applied as in previous games when it comes to the up-to-date teamsheets and clubs from the UK and overseas.
