Summary
Developed by small Finnish studio Shiver Games, Lucius, is a survival horror game with a twist. The gamer plays the character of six-year old Lucius who was born on 6/6/66 to a wealthy family.
Young Lucius was brought up in a mansion surrounded by wealth and servants (in the form of maids), a private teacher, and the family butcher. His sixth birthday brings a huge surprise in the form of his actual father, the Devil himself. He presents the young lad with the task of this life: he must gain control of the world.
In order to achieve this, Lucius – controlled by the player – must murder each and every member of his mortal, human family and all of the other members of the household without raising suspicion.
The game is decidedly not family-friendly, it is intended to frighten. This is achieved via plot and by use of a rich 3D graphical set of environments, as well as plot-driving cinematic cut-scenes.
The gamer must not just go on a murderous rampage, however. Throughout the mansion and its grounds there are puzzles to be solved and challenges to be met in order to wreak the terrible work of Lucius on the human world. Fortunately for the gamer – if not the NPCs – the young devil has many powers including mind control and Telekenesis to call on in order to complete his demonic tasks.
