Summary

It really wouldn't be a new Sony gaming device without a dose of the classic drifting, power-sliding madness that is Ridge Racer. So, the PlayStation Vita gets its own version of the Namco Bandai mainstay.

The out-of-the-box title sees three tracks and five cars made immediately available to the gamer, with other tracks and cars coming in the form of downloadable content.

As ever with the series, the driving is all about speed and power, there are three nitro bars to fill up as you race and these provide the boost that must be used at tactically pointed moments in order to get ahead of the pack.

The PS Vita's analogue thumbsticks, with their short radius of movement, are used for precision control, which is required for slides (and it's those that gain the player that Nitro).

There is also, of course, the mandatory banging techno soundtrack.
