Summary

The Sims 3: Showtime

Showtime is an expansion pack for The Sims 3 and comes directly from the The Sims Studio. Its added extras enable Sims 3 players to take their Sims from rags to riches (or not, depending on how the gamer treats their creations) within the game. It also enables the stories weaved to be shared with friends and family.

The Showtime pack brings in social features such as individual in-game news feeds and live updates to the standard Sims 3 experience.

The pack enables Sims 3 owners to immerse their characters in new and entertaining careers including those as singers, acrobats, magicians and DJs.

It's not all about performing though. For those gamers who don't enjoy the limelight, they can build and customise their Sims’ stages using props and special effects to create unique venues such as a swanky concert hall, a massive stadium or an indie club.

The construction will, however, have a direct influence on a Sim’s performance and career progression.

By use of the all-new “SimPort” feature, players can also send their Sim into a friend’s game to perform in their world. This includes the abilities to book and perform gigs and concerts in their friends’ town. Players can even go on tour! Of course, all this sharing also means that performances can (and will) be reviewed by anybody they are shared with.

As well as performing and building a fame-filled career, gamers can also earn rewards for achieving goals and accomplishing special challenges that can be tracked and shared via in-game social wall posts.

Players have the opportunity to post their Sims’ successes, share gameplay techniques, create wishlists and send gifts, search for new friends and share memories through their in-game news feeds and as e-cards.
