Summary
Premier Manager series celebrates its 20th anniversary with this latest version, complete with an up-to-date, widget-driven user interface.
Featuring teams from all of Europe’s Top Leagues, including those in England, Scotland, Italy, Spain, Germany and France, Premier Manager 2012 also enables virtual managers to take part in major domestic cup and European competitions.
Managing a successful football team is not all about winning trophies on the pitch, though. The PM2012 manager must also be able to handle the transfer market. This requires management of player and staff contracts, scouts, transfers, loans and free agents all with real-time negotiations.
It must also be borne in mind that with the “Character Memories” feature, this means that players and staff remember events and display realistic emotions and responses.
Managers will also have to cope with organising the club's facilities. This includes the stadium itself, as well as medical and training centres.
But no matter what does go on behind the boardroom doors, matches are won, lost or drawn on the turf. PM2012 makes use of “Tactical Unity” meaning that the greater the team unity the better the performance. This unity measured by how comfortable players are with their position, formation, style of play and the time they’ve been at the club. All of this is, of course, down to keen management decision making.
As expected from a football management title, there are plenty of in-depth statistics of how each player is performing on the pitch to guide the manager too.
Managers will receive RPG-style XP for things such as winning matches and managing finances, to treatment of staff, transfer activity and much more.
And if the current team line-ups are not up to their tastes, managers can use the fully featured Name Editor to change the names of players, clubs, stadiums, managers and competitions.
