Summary

Post-apocalyptic worlds are all the 'Rage' these days, but nobody can lay claim to the frenzied, hellish first-person shooter like id Software. From Castle Wolfenstein to Doom, Quake and beyond, id has been at the forefront of crafting some of the most iconically grim environments.

In Rage, selected human beings have been buried deep underneath the Earth's surface in life-sustaining pods, in order to survive planet-wide extinction from an incoming asteroid. You play as one of those selected members of the underground arks and find yourself in a world where bandits and mutants rule.

The game quickly becomes a case of 'survival of the fittest,' as you must keep your wits about you in order to stay alive. An engaging storyline is combined with some visceral first-person combat against some gorgeously-destroyed backdrops. A large array of weapons are available to you in this uncertain world, including wingsticks, personal turrets, sentry bots and remote controlled bomb cars.

Not only that but you get to explore the world of Rage in your very own super buggy, which can be customised with special parts, paint jobs and weapons that you can find littered around the landscape. Bandit clans and death races will test your buggy's ultimate abilities, in an open world where side quests are rife.

And if you don't fancy exploring this world on your own, grab a friend for co-op modes or head straight to id's speciality – frantic multiplayer action.

With this meaty Campaign Edition for Mac, you get the added bonus of all the Anarchy Edition content (including a Double Barrel Shotgun, the Rat Rod Buggy, Fists of RAGE and Crimson Elite Armor) along with the Wasteland Sewers Missions!
