Summary
WWE is back on console, but this time a different publisher has stepped into the ring. 2K Sports has picked up the WWE license from the defunct THQ and is looking to make a big impression with its big entrance. Fear not, though - Yuke's is still handling development, so there's not much danger of the baby being thrown out with the bath water.
The headliner of WWE 2K14 is the 30 Years of Wrestlemania mode. This brings together iconic matches from five different eras of WWE history into a progressive single-player mode. Included are 'Hulk Hogan Running Wild,' 'the New Generation,, 'the Attitude Era,' 'Ruthless Aggression,' and 'the WWE Universe Era.'
Bespoke presentation for each era takes players through the timeline, including detailed recreations of arenas, superstar entrances and ring attires. To really recreate the feel of the different periods, there are also era-specific graphics and filters. That means, of course, that you can expect titans from wrestling's storied history such as Hulk Hogan, Macho Man Randy Savage, The Rock and Ultimate Warrior!
This is complemented, of course, by all the goodies you'd expect - Create a Superstar, The Steak Mode and WWE Universe Mode are all packed in, along with multiplayer!
