Summary

What do you get when you cross Nintendo, Jurassic Park and role-playing games? Something like Fossil Fighters Frontier! The game follows the monster/creature hunting style of the likes of Pokemon, but splices it with everyone's favourite kind of giant reptile.

You play as a Fossil Warden charged with protecting the world's Fossil Parks from a particularly nefarious baddie going by the name of Dr Baron von Blackraven. This villain is intent on ruling the world, and he wants to do it using the power of extra powerful (and extra colourful!) dinosaurs called Vivosaurs! The key to stopping him is using your bone buggy to explore the game's huge 3D world so you can find the fossils yourself and use them to revive Vivosaurs!

As you build up your line-up of Vivosaurs (and there are 80 to discover) you'll send them into turn-based battle. Careful excavation of the fossils using the 3DS's touch screen is crucial, as the better the job you do the stronger your Vivosaur will be. Fortunately, there are also customisation options for your excavations, including tools like drills and hammers. It's just as well, seeing as dig sites might come with their own special challenges.

You can send your Vivosaurs into different types of battle. You'll need to do it through the main campaign, but there are also daily tournaments from the Fossil Stadium and even StreetPass battles!

For the more social archeologists out there, up to three players can team up to take on enemies, or even explore the world looking for fossils!
