Summary

Omega Force, the studio normally behind the Dynasty Warriors and Samurai Warriors series, has been flexing its wings. Wii U owners got Hyrule Warriors set in the world of Zelda, while PlayStation 4 owners now get a new spin on the Dragon Quest series in the form of Dragon Quest Heroes: The World Tree's Woe and the Blight.

Fans of Omega Force's other work know that their speciality is the musou genre of games, in which the player is pitted against vast waves of foes (and a strong helping of massive ones) and is tasked with dispatching them.

To aid them on the battlefield, players can level up each character and upgrade their skills and abilities. That means that getting the right roster with the right skillset, then unleashing them at the right moment, can turn the tide of battle. Another option is collecting monster medals. Gather them from fallen foes and then recall them to the battlefield as part of your own forces - up to 24 can fight by the player's side!

All the trappings of the Dragon Quest series are, of course, still here. Players can embark on a journey with some of the series' fan-favourite characters, including the likes of Maya (of Dragon Quest IV) and Yangus, the thief with a heart of gold from (Dragon Quest VIII).
